This webinar covers:

  • criteria for determining local connection
  • key legal obligations of local authorities when considering local connection and referral
  • steps to assess local connection status of an applicant
  • when and how to refer cases under Section 33
  • rights of the applicant during the referral process

What you will learn

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • explain the criteria used to determine an applicant’s local connection
  • demonstrate when and how to refer cases under Section 33 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987
  • summarise the rights of applicants during the referral process

Having some knowledge of the homelessness applications would be helpful but not essential to attend this webinar.
