The Frontline Network are delighted to work with Groundswell to deliver this training session on Cuckooing. Part of the Frontline Network's Outsourced Training programme. 

Who is this Course For

This session is offered exclusively to frontline workers based in the UK, supporting people who experience homelessness. Any registrations that fall outside of this criteria will be returned.

Please note all registrations must use valid work email address. Any registrations using personal email address will be returned.

In order to spread attendance equitably, we also reserve the right to return a ticket where more than two people from the same organisation have registered to attend.

About this Course

Cuckooing is a disturbing trend where vulnerable individuals are exploited by drug dealers who take over their homes for illegal activities. This training will delve into the complexities of cuckooing, highlighting its effects on individuals and communities, particularly within the homelessness sector. You’ll learn to identify warning signs, understand the vulnerabilities that can lead to cuckooing, and explore strategies for intervention and support.

The course will look at:

  • the main reasons cuckooing happens and the effects this may have on a victim both during and after the event.
  • ways we can work to reduce the possibility of this happening to clients
  • how we can support clients to avoid such abuse
  • what we as practitioners can do to assist people not to find themselves a victim or assist them if they find they are already a victim.
  • work through a toolkit specifically designed to help you to continue to support your clients to be free of, and safe from cuckooing.
