The Frontline Network are delighted to offer this training half-day session from Shelter, Awaab’s Law: Hazards in Social Housing. This session if offered as part of the Frontline Network's Outsourced Training programme.

Who is this Course For

This session is offered exclusively to frontline workers based in England supporting people who experience homelessness. Any registrations that fall outside of this criteria will be returned.

Please note all registrations must use valid work email address. Any registrations using personal email address will be returned.

In order to spread attendance equitably, we also reserve the right to return a ticket where more than two people from the same organisation have registered to attend.

About this Course

Intended for those with an Intermediate to Advanced knowledge level, this course covers how Awaab's law will affect social landlords' legal responsibilities to ensure safe housing conditions, manage hazards and meet new electrical safety requirements.

This course includes:

What Awaab’s law is and how it will be implemented
An overview of the relevant regulations and guidance
The extension of the electrical safety standards to the social housing sector
How tenants can challenge and address disrepair issues

At the end of the training, you'll be able to:

Understand the key principles of Awaab's law
Explain how the new legislation will be implemented and enforced
Identify the legal duties of social landlords to address reported hazards
Consider the options available to social tenants if their landlord does not comply with the law
