The Frontline Network and Project 17 are delighted to offer this half day, online group training session Introduction to Support Options for Individuals with No Recourse to Public Funds.

Please note to attend this training you will need to be a frontline worker in a paid position supporting people experiencing homelessness. You will need a valid work email address to attend.

Course contents are specific to those who are based within England and therefore we would not recommend frontline workers from Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland to attend.

Sessions will be held on Zoom and will last from 10am to 12:30pm.

About this Course

Content:

  • Understanding ‘no recourse to public funds’ (NRPF)
  • Identifying immigration status and entitlements
  • Issues and barriers faced by adults with NRPF
  • Asylum support (Section 95, 98, and 4), National Referral Mechanism, Care Act 2014, Migrant Victims of Domestic Abuse Concession (MVDAC) (formerly known as the Destitution Domestic Violence Concession), Section 17 Children Act 1989, Change of Conditions

Learning outcomes include:

  • The ability to distinguish between different immigration statuses and the rights and restrictions they confer.
  • An understanding of what NRPF means and what is classified as a public fund.
  • An understanding of the current rights of EU citizens.
  • An understanding of the types of support available to families with NRPF depending on their status covering; Asylum support, support under the Care Act 2014, MVDAC, and Section 17.
  • An understanding of the National Referral Mechanism for victims of trafficking.
  • An understanding of who is eligible to make a change of conditions applications for those with leave to remain with an NRPF restriction.
  • The ability to distinguish which support might be available according to what type of immigration status.

Who Can Attend

This offer is open to those in paid positions as frontline workers in England who support people experiencing homelessness.

We require all registering to do so using their work email address. If registering with a personal email address you will not be able to attend.

If you our outside of the United Kingdom, you will not be able to attend.

Please note this offer is recommended for frontline workers in England at the present time as the course is focused more specifically on England support systems. We are working on separate trainings for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

If tickets are sold out please add your name to the waiting list. With enough demand we are able to consider booking again this training session.

What’s You’ll Need

Participants will need a Wi-Fi connection and a suitable device to access the internet.

Prior to the event, participants will receive an email with a link which they should use to join the event. Please also ensure Zoom is downloaded on your device ahead of event.
