About the Training Fund

If you are a frontline worker or team and have identified a training course or event that will help you in your current work with people experiencing homelessness, but your organisation is not able to fund it, we may be able to help. Individuals can apply for up to £500 to cover the cost of training or events and groups can apply for up to £1,500.

At the Frontline Network we are committed to listening to the voices of staff working directly with people experiencing homelessness, and to responding to the challenges being faced in the sector. The Training Fund exist to support frontline workers with people experiencing homelessness to access training and skills development opportunities, if their organisation is unable to fund them.

We want to make the Training Fund as accessible as possible. If you would prefer to complete the application via a call with one of our team, please get in touch and we can arrange this.

How to apply

Before applying, please read our Training Fund Guidelines.

Applications must be received by Frontline Network at least 6 weeks before the course start date. This is to allow enough time for us to process your application.
All applications must demonstrate how the training need has been identified by Frontline Workers (for example through supervisions, staff surveys, team meetings)
Why the training is needed (e.g. staff reporting an increase in incidents of mental health crisis, or a need to increase knowledge around areas of welfare/benefits that impact the people you work with).
We need to hear how the training will benefit the people you support in your service
Group applications can be made by a manager but must demonstrate how the training need has been identified by frontline staff e.g. through consultations, team meetings, supervisions.
Evidence of the full cost, date of training and number of attendees must be provided, e.g. a link to full details on trainer website, or an email or quote for your organisation’s required training
Before applying, please find out if the training can be funded by your employer. If you do not know we will ask you to find out.

What we fund

There are lots of training providers across the UK offering a wide range of training. You can apply for Frontline Network funding towards any course that is relevant to your work with people experiencing homelessness - so look for what is available in your area, or nationally, by signing up for newsletters and asking colleagues.
