Listening to the experience of frontline workers is key to addressing homelessness.  

We want to hear from frontline workers across the UK in our 2026 Frontline Worker survey. 

Have your voice heard

Frontline workers will have the chance to have their voices heard by responding to our survey between Monday 9 March and Friday 17 April. 

If you are a frontline worker, have your voice heard today. Please also forward the survey to your colleagues in the sector. 

The insights we get from the survey enable us to do two crucial things: 

  • Amplify the voices of frontline staff, helping to influence homelessness policy and practice. 
  • Use this understanding of what’s happening on the frontline, to shape the support we offer, including funding, training and more.   

What have previous surveys achieved? 

We have shared insights with policymakers, including MPs on the All-Party Parliamentary Group for ending homelessness, and directly with the homelessness minister. This has fed into the government’s recently published homelessness strategy. 

We launched our Mental Health Fund, which provides around £600,000 to three projects over three years. This was in response to findings from the survey that showed a need to improve access to mental health support for people experiencing homelessness. 

We have been testing ways of improving frontline worker wellbeing, following the findings in successive years about the impact of the role on workers’ wellbeing. This year we are funding a project that allows workers in five organisations to choose a wellbeing activity, and assessing its impact. 

The survey results shape the content of our Annual Conference for frontline workers, which provides free sessions on a variety of topics relevant to them. This is a crucial resource for colleagues in the sector.

The findings of the survey were covered by both national and local publications, including The Big Issue, Inside Housing and the Brighton and Hove Argus.
