Praxis, who lead the Migrant Homelessness Frontline Network, have launched their new campaign, Scrap the Barriers.
The campaign seeks to raise awareness around the issue of migrants being made to wait approximately 10 years or more for the right to stay permanelty, causing anxiety and fear over people's status in the UK.
Scrap the Barrier calls for a fairer system where no-one should have to wait more than 5 years to settle, should not be subject to extensive fees as part of their settlement process, no more being subject to living in limbo and no more hidden delays or conditions.
The impact of these delays can be devestating, with many living in fear of losing their homes, skipping meals to cover fees and enduring years of insecurity which strips away dignity and stablity.
