Pathway Research into 2017 Homelessness Reduction Act's Duty to Refer

Thursday, December 15, 2022

Pathway would like to hear from people in England who work in hospitals (from any background/profession), as they research the Duty to Refer in the context of the health organisations.

Pathway is third-sector partner of the NHS, working to improve services and outcomes for socially marginalised groups - such as people experiencing homelessness through the implementation of specialist hospital-based teams. They are currently conducting research into the 2017 Homelessness Reduction Act’s Duty to Refer in hospital contexts to understand how well the Duty is working, what the key barriers are to success, and what improvements or changes could be implemented.

As part of this research, they are conducting on online survey across the range of roles and professions that exist within hospitals, and from people with different levels of understanding and experience of the Duty to Refer. Whether you are unfamiliar with the Duty to Refer, or have extensive experience making Duty to Refer referrals, they want to hear your thoughts.

The survey will take around 15 mins and is designed to be as quick and easy to complete while still providing high quality information.  All of the responses will remain 100% anonymous.

Pathway aim to use the results to drive improvements in the implementation and outcomes of the Duty to Refer in hospital settings and to provide key insights for their ongoing policy and legislation work.

If you have any questions or comments about the survey, email Theo Jackson or for any questions about the wider research, email Emily Page.
