Frontline Network Wales: Regional Provider Forum

Thursday, April 25, 2024

The next round of Frontline Network Wales meet-ups will focus on the recently published Draft Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy for Wales - this is your opportunity to feed your views into the Welsh Government consultation.

Multiple disadvantages, like mental health, substance use issues or trauma can cause a person to be at greater risk of homelessness and/or get worse if they experience homelessness. Frontline homelessness and housing support workers have fantastic expertise and experience of supporting people experiencing mental health problems and we want to ensure that your views reach the Welsh Government and influence the final strategy.

What will happen at these meet-ups?
The meetings will be fairly informal, but here's a rough idea of what will happen:

  • We will deliver a presentation about the Draft Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy
  • You will be able to feed in your views using the Slido app
  • You will also be able to share your views verbally during the meeting

Who is invited to these meet-ups?
These meet-ups are open to frontline* homelessness and housing support staff working in third sector organisations, housing associations and local authorities in Wales. These meetings are specifically for frontline staff, not managers. We want to create a space for frontline staff to be able to speak openly and honestly about their views and experiences - and we ask that managers respect this and do not attend.

*How do we define a 'frontline worker'?
The Frontline Network defines ‘frontline worker’ as a paid worker, who directly supports people who are experiencing homelessness. This includes those working in the Voluntary, Statutory, and Public sectors.
