London Homelessness Awards - now open!

Wednesday, April 26, 2023

This year’s London Homelessness Awards are now open for applications, with a prize fund of £60,000.

As well as the money, winners receive a specially designed trophy and certificate, and a range of business development initiatives, including a specially commissioned video, PR, communications and marketing support, access to the LHF professional development programme and travel bursaries and further opportunities to bid for grants.

The judging panel comprises representatives from Shelter, Crisis, London Housing Directors, the Mayor’s Office and LHF.  Winners have said that being recognised by such leading players in the homelessness world has enhanced their credibility and often opened access to new networks and sources of funding.

Winners come from the full range of housing and homelessness organisations in London – small and large, charitable and local government.  Winners have included The Magpie Project, Southwark, ThamesReach, St Mungos, Greenwich Winter Night Shelter and Haringey Rough Sleeping Task Force.  You can find out more about previous winners and watch the videos at the LHA website www.lhawards.org.uk

Last year’s winners were Pathway.  Their Chief Executive Alex Bax “Winning the award has been a huge validation for the team and has highlighted the wonderful work our Partnership teams do across London.   When you’re in the thick of it day to day, it can sometimes be hard to see the impact you’re having.  But this success reminds us of the role we play, and further shows the value of our work to our external partners.”

Ian Brady, Executive Chair of London Housing Foundation said: “The awards are now a key event in the calendar of the housing and homelessness sector in London.  We are very proud to be able to sponsor them.”

To watch a film about the 2022 award winners and find out how to enter this year’s awards, please go to www.lhawards.org.uk. Don’t miss the deadline for return of applications: 11.00am Monday 22nd May 2023.
