New survey to understand the experiences of people with NRPF

Friday, July 16, 2021

The charity Citizens Advice has launched a survey to find out about people’s experiences of having No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) attached to their visa. Answers will be anonymous and participants receive £10 for taking part.

As part of a campaign to end NRPF, Citizens Advice has launched a survey with Savanta ComRes to understand the impacts of the policy.

  • The survey will be open until mid August and should take between 15-20 minutes to complete.
  • It can be completed online by the individual with NRPF (see link at the end) or by their adviser or support worker if this support ensures the person can complete the survey.
  • There is also an option to do the survey by post or by telephone.
  • The survey is available in multiple languages: English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Albanian and Mandarin.
  • All personal data will remain strictly confidential and will only be used for research purposes. View the privacy policy here.
  • Participants can choose between a £10 bank or PayPal transfer, or a £10 shopping voucher as a thank you for taking part.
  • Please note that people who cannot access public funds because they are undocumented, seeking asylum or have refugee status are not able to participate in this survey.
  • If the person would like a postal survey or if you have any questions please email florence.brunert@citizensadvice.org.uk.
