Scottish Frontline Network: Free benefits training with Child Poverty Action Group
Scottish Frontline Network: Free benefits training with Child Poverty Action Group
The Scottish Frontline Network are pleased to offer you the opportunity to join this two-day online training course with Child Poverty Action Group in Scotland!
The course is aimed at people who are not professional welfare advisors but need knowledge of the benefits system to support the people they work with. The course covers the basics of UK and Scottish social security, and it will help you identify which benefits are available to the people you work with to maximise entitlements.
The course runs over two consecutive days: Tuesday 8 November & Wednesday 9 November, 10am-1pm. You will be required to attend on both days.
There are limited spaces available so please only sign up if you are expecting to attend both days. We also ask you to consider sending just 1-2 representatives from your team to allow more organisations to benefit.
The course will cover:
- Non-means tested benefits and means-tested benefits
- The benefit cap
- Scottish Social Security benefits
- Identifying the right benefits
- Making a claim
- Benefits maximisation
The training course will be interactive and allow for discussions of common challenges and how to address them.
Find out more and sign up here!
This event is currently fully booked - please get in touch on UrsulaHofeldt@cyrenians.scot and we can put you on a waiting list
