From Start to Finish
From Start to Finish will be a Fund available upon application to the women and children escaping domestic abuse who access their service. The Fund would be available/provide clients with household items such as flooring which would otherwise be inaccessible. They hope to be able to help their clients in making their Forever House a Home.
The From Start to Finish Fund would be available upon application, to the women/children supported by the service, either through the refuge or outreach programmes, as part of their Move On support.
The Fund would enable women living within West Flintshire, who are escaping domestic abuse, to apply for household items such as flooring, which would otherwise be inaccessible. This may be due to funding restrictions, such as being in part-full time employment, education or existing debt, as well as funding sources not including items within their funding criteria. Clients they support are unable to access funding for flooring.
They would like to be able to offer women, who have been through such difficult and traumatic experiences, the additional monies required to make their houses into homes.
This will also prevent women from applying for loans usually at very high interest rates or from illegal sources (loan sharks).
They have undertaken research over the last 12 months with regards to the number of clients declined by grants and/or other funding sources and 0 clients have been successful in obtaining monies for flooring.
In order to provide and evidence the outcomes of the Fund they will use the Warwick and Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMWBS) prior to applying to the Fund and again on completion would evidence the need and the emotional impact it has had on the client/s.
