Homeless Link and Refugee Action

9.45am - 4.15pm

National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), Society Building, 8 Saints St, London, N1 9RL

Homeless Link would like to invite front line members of staff to attend a new course that we are developing entitled "Supporting non-EEA destitute migrants".

This course is delivered free as part of the Strategic Alliance on Migrant Destitution, which is a unique cross sector project working across the refugee/migrant and homelessness sector.

This one day training course is delivered in partnership between Homeless Link and Refugee Action, and will help front line workers from across the homelessness sector to develop their understanding of non-EEA migrant destitution and homelessness.

Who is it for?

This course is aimed at front line staff and senior project workers from homelessness and housing organisations. It is aimed at services that come into contact with non-EEA rough sleepers during their work, such as outreach services, day centres, street pastors, and night shelter volunteers.

What will it cover?

By the end of the day attendees will be able to:

* Describe the context of migrant homelessness in the UK
* Identify destitute migrants accessing their service and where to signpost them
* Describe the barriers and entitlements to support for individuals with NRPF
* Explain what regulated immigration advice is and why it is important
* Describe models of accommodation and support for non-EEA migrants with NRPF across England
* Help end migrant destitution by pledging specific improvements to their service

This event is fully subsidised by the Strategic Alliance on Migrant Destitution and includes a free lunch.

To register for this event, please sign up through the Eventbrite page here.
