This Community of Practice will focus on how we support people with their recovery from homelessness. We all try to do this through encouraging people to engage with activities and opportunities that build their personal resilience, develop positive self-esteem and nurture their dreams of a different life ahead. This CoP will provide a space to share what has worked for you, what services you find useful and where you make referrals to support someone with the skills and confidence to take the steps out of homelessness that they wish to take. We want to hear your success stories!

We will also have a guest speaker Geraldine Crimmins who has lived experience of homelessness, substance dependency and the criminal justice system but who has now become a successful artist. She will talk about the positive impact that engaging with her art has had on her journey out of chaos and into the stable life she has now.

If you are a service provider and would like to bring leaflets and referral forms along to the event then please do so as we will endeavour to make time for you to share info about your service: we will try and have time for micro presentations depending upon the demand.

We are also interested to see the kind of wellbeing programmes that you deliver in your service so if you are able to bring copies of your scheduled events to share with the group this would also be great. The aim is to inspire each other and share good practice ideas for what works when we consider the ways in which we can support people creatively.

The aim from the day will be to compile a dossier of useful resources which we will share after the event.

The event is free to attend and lunch is provided so please specify any dietary requirements when booking.
