You are warmly invited to the first Community of Practice for Team Leaders, Managers and Coordinators from homelessness and rough sleeper services in Brighton and Hove.

Stepping up from the frontline is not always an easy task: juggling the needs of you team, budgets, rota's, policy changes....and then there is the task of managing those who manage you! On top of this many of you will still need to engage with your service users on a daily basis - possibly your only respite from the chaos behind the scenes. You are not alone!

This Community of Practice will aim to bring those in comparative roles from across the cities services together to share experiences, learn from each other and identify solutions. It will be a space to network, get to know the faces behind the emails and to develop strategies for better partnership working across the sector.

The purpose of a Community of Practice is to:

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and social learning between practitioners
  • Provide a safe venue for people to listen, reflect and receive feedback
  • Allow people to hear about new evidence learning and practice
  • Try out and discuss changes that encourage innovation
  • Harness the collective expertise to drive real, actionable solutions
  • Improve networking across the sector and with other related sector.

This first Community of Practice will focus on identifying what the current challenges and concerns for the particpants in their day to day practice are in the local context; this discussion will then inform the agenda for future CoP's.

There is no charge to attend this event, but places are limited so please RSVP as soon as possible.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided, if you have any dietary requirements please state these at the time of booking.

If you have any questions please email greg.headley@homelesslink.org.uk

“Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.” (Wenger-Trayner, 2015)

This event is being supported by BHT Fulfilling Lives South East.
