Brighton and Hove Frontline Network Updates

Covid-19 is having a massive impact on the way we are having to work and the people that we work with. Local responses are key to being able to support those we are working with. Local organisations will know the people that they are working with and the supporting organisations. Justlife in Brighton have been updating their network and community about how to go about doing this. In their latest update they have outlined how this local response is shaping up.

Local Response

The local council is helping to coordinate the response and has set up local cell groups. Several of these groups relate to people that we are supporting and working with: vulnerable people, vulnerable accommodation, food distribution.

The Food Partnership is also working to increase distribution in Brighton for people that rely on food banks. They are planning on setting up several hubs across the city that will make food parcels and possibly cooked meals.

Justlife have also put together Move-In packs for rough sleepers moving into emergency accommodation. These packs include toiletries, cutlery, crockery, kettle, toaster. Workers can contact Justlife for more information on these packs.

Healthcare

The update also included advice from Arch Healthcare for those being supported with dependence problems. The advice covers alcohol, heroin, methadone/Subutex scripts, benzodiapines and spice. Full advice can be seen in the newsletter. Further updates are being provided by Arch Healthcare and advice may change over time.
